Diagnostic Fee & Pricing

Every repair or upgrade starts with a full diagnostic to identify exactly what is wrong or what is needed.

• Hardware fault confirmed? The £65 covers the diagnostic. We then quote separately for parts and labour — you decide whether to proceed.
• User error or software issue? The £65 fee still applies as our time diagnosing is the same regardless of the cause.
• No hidden costs. You approve the full written quote before any work begins.

Repair Services

We repair desktop PCs and custom gaming computers. Common faults we fix regularly:

• PC won't power on — PSU failure, motherboard fault, or loose internal connections
• No display or blank screen — GPU failure, monitor cable issues, corrupted BIOS
• Blue screen of death (BSOD) — driver conflicts, failing RAM, or storage faults
• Overheating and thermal throttling — dried thermal paste, blocked fans, failing cooler
• Slow or sluggish performance — failing HDD or SSD, RAM issues, software bloat
• Noisy fans or rattling — worn bearings, heavy dust buildup, incorrect fan curves
• USB or peripheral ports not working — motherboard header faults, driver issues
• Random shutdowns or freezes — PSU instability, overheating, failing components

Component-Level Repairs

Most faults come down to one part. These are the repairs we are asked for most often, and what each one usually involves.

Graphics card repair

Artefacts on screen, crashing under load, fans spinning at full speed, or no display at all. We test the card in a known-good system to separate a genuine GPU fault from a power supply, riser or motherboard problem — a surprising number of "dead" graphics cards turn out to be a failing PSU. Where the card itself has failed we will tell you plainly whether a replacement is the sensible option, and we can fit a new one from the same range we use in our builds.

Motherboard repair

No power, no POST, dead USB headers, or a machine that boots only sometimes. We check the power delivery, RAM slots, CMOS battery and standoffs before condemning a board. If the board has failed we quote for a like-for-like replacement that keeps your existing CPU and memory wherever possible, so you are not forced into a full rebuild.

Hard drive and SSD repair

Clicking drives, drives that vanish from BIOS, very slow boots, or repeated corruption. We check SMART data and surface health first. Where a drive is failing but still readable we can clone your data to a new NVMe SSD as part of the upgrade — usually the single biggest speed improvement an older PC can get. We are not a clean-room data-recovery lab, so if a drive has failed mechanically we will say so rather than take your money.

Power supply faults

Random shutdowns under load, no power at all, burning smell, or a PC that restarts when a game starts. A failing PSU imitates almost every other fault, which is why we test it early. We fit 80+ Gold fully modular units, matched to your graphics card.

RAM and boot faults

Blue screens, failure to POST, or a machine that only boots with one stick fitted. We test each module individually and in each slot, so the fix is the actual faulty part rather than a guess.
